About Lucid North
Lucid North is an education technology company built around one belief: the person best placed to run a school is the one who isn't buried in its paperwork. We make software for the operational work that pulls you away from teachers and students.
Our Mission
To give school leaders their time back. We take the operational chores that eat an administrator's morning, starting with substitute coverage, and turn them into a two-minute review, so principals can be in hallways and classrooms, not spreadsheets.
Harry Llama: The End of the 5 AM Scramble
You know the 5 AM scramble: the absence texts arrive before your coffee does, and you're cross-referencing the master schedule, the bell schedule, and a list of open prep periods before you've even parked the car.
Harry Llama is our answer. It reads the schedules you already have, builds a coverage plan that protects preps and rotates duty periods fairly, and hands it to you for a quick review and approval. The scramble becomes a routine, and your morning belongs to your building again.
Built by an Administrator
Harry Llama wasn't designed in a boardroom. Founder Brian McManus spent ten years in school leadership, including six as an Assistant Principal. After enough mornings spent piecing together coverage plans by hand, he built the scheduler he needed. Every rule Harry follows, from protecting preps to honoring contractual coverage limits, comes from that experience.
